14 Dec Jilin Zhenlai Mali Wind Farm Project

  • Type: Wind Power
  • Location: China, Asia
  • Standard: Gold Standard CER
  • Reference: CDM 3114 / GS 678
  • Est. Reductions: 110,000 tCO2e per year

The Jilin Zhenlai Mali Project is a Wind Farm located in the Jilin Province, Northeastern China. It generates renewable electricity using wind power resources and sells this generated output to the Northeast China Power Grid. The project consists of 33 wind turbines, each with a capacity of 1500 kW. The total power capacity is therefore approximately 49.5 MW.

The project will assist China in stimulating future use of renewable energy technologies to replace coal-dominated power generation. The project will help reduce Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions, diversify the China’s energy mix, and promote the local economic development. Furthermore, the project will improve air quality and local livelihoods and promote sustainable renewable energy industry development.

Social and Sustainability Benefits

This project is strongly contributing to sustainable development by:

  • Reducing greenhouse gas emissions in China.
  • Helping to stimulate the growth of renewable energy development.
  • Creating local employment opportunities.
  • Reducing other pollutants resulting from the power generation industry, such as SO2 and soot.
  • proved infrastructures and food supplies.
